Purity Topic of the Month: Set Yourself Apart

In Leslie Ludy's book Set Apart Femininity, I found these great words of wisdom...

God's sacred intent for us goes far beyond just saving sex until marriage, wearing one-piece swimsuits instead of skimpy string bikinis, or idolizing Christian bands instead of secular ones. It is not just making sure we tack on some Christian morality to our self-indulgent lives...

...A truly set-apart woman is marked by this sacred decorum. She hates the things God hates and loves the things that God loves, and she reflects this attitude in every dimension of her daily life. Does God stand up and cheer over American Idol? Does He smile with delight over the new Harry Potter movie? Does He get excited about the latest Coldplay album?...

...Other "Christian" girls may watch the same movies, listen to the same music, wear the same clothes, and have all the same pop-culture addictions as the rest of the world with just slightly higher morals tacked on. But God has called us to a higher standard--the very standard of Christ. And I believe it's time we become worthy of the call we have received.

Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8

Hey Michaela,
Great post! We heard Leslie Ludy speak at a conference in IL. Her husband also spoke at the conference (he was an awesome speaker!) Their message is inspirational to say the least! He also has books out that were more for boys, but girls can read them too! Can't wait to see ya'll in Memphis,TN

Hello! My name is Joshua. I am VERY impressed with what you've written. I myself am a fiercely and proudly a virgin who has never gone further than kissing, and who made the decision eight years ago to reserve my next kiss for my wedding day. I've written a book on purity as well. I am so, so proud of you for having made such wise choices in life. I know that our Father is even more proud, and that his eyes must sparkle when he looks at you and the way you live your life.
I would have written you this in a more private message, but I could not find an email address. In any case, I'd be honored if you messaged me either here or at jleavi00@leeu.edu. I'm also available on Facebook.

So proud to be your brother in Christ,
Joshua
